Well you have come to the right place! We can set you up with a home page, and host it on the internet. We can usually register your domain name within 1 working day (please allow a longer period of time if submitted on a Friday afternoon). We can get you fully setup and online with a professional looking web site within no time (Eg: Depending on the size of web site you would like us to build). How do I set up a new account?
It's easy to get started today. Proceed to our secure online order form to sign up for your new web hosting. You will soon receive an email notice stating your account details and information regarding the use of your account.
Is there a minimum contract period?
The only minimum periods for each account are the minimum periods for which each account type is available (typically 12 months).

Where are your Domain World servers situated?
Right here in Australia! Other hosting companies host their servers overseas in the US. When you choose DomainWorld.com.au for your web hosting services, you can be sure that you are getting the best in technical infrastructure, right here in Australia. Our data centre is located at the state-of-the-art Global Switch facility in Sydney. Global Switch Sydney is Australia's largest carrier neutral facility giving DomainWorld.com.au customers the very best in environment, security and back-up systems. The data centre maintains the highest level of building security around the clock. The centre's multiple CCTV points, secure entries and exits and limited access areas are all managed by building security control staff 24x7. At DomainWorld.com.au we only purchase high quality hardware and software. We are continuously monitoring all systems and servers, conduct weekly backups. The data centre facility features a dedicated 155 MBit STM1 ATM link, and multiple OC3 internet connections with 6MB available PVC for failover. Also! Because we also have clients from all around the world, we also run servers in the US (and soon to expand into the UK). Our US server is primarily used to accommodate our reseller clients. We have resellers that use us for there reselling needs and we don't let them use our Australian servers so that it doesn't effect our Australian customers. Can I just register a Domain Name without hosting with you?
No, we will only register a domain name at these low prices if you purchase one of our hosting packages at the same time. (The reason why we don't offer just domain name registrations on there own is because we actually loose money by registering every domain name we register, but it greatly helps you "the client" if we offer you a discount price for this service). All you need to do is select the domain name extension that you require from the drop down list (example: .com or .com.au or .net etc). Then type in the "name" you want to buy, and simply choose any hosting package. (However! If you do need two names registered but only need one hosting package, we can certainly do that for you).
Do you handle the domain name registration process?
Yes we apply for the domain name for you, however, we do not handle the name registration ourselves. We apply and organise the domain for you including delegating your site name to your preferred host, hopefully you would choose DomainWorld.com.au for your hosting. Please note that we will only use an authorised accredited registrar of internet names to register your domain name. If you are transferring a domain, and you authorise us to do it by giving us the registry key for your domain, we can organise your transfer at no extra fee. Who owns my domain if I register my domain name through you?
You do. You, or the person you specify when we register the name, will be listed as the registered owner of your domain and will retain full control over it at all times.

Yes we do! We can build you a fantastic looking web site and host it on our server for as little as $1500 (Setup cost). Who transfers my existing domain to your server?
We can do this for you at no extra cost, or if you prefer, you can do it. If you decide to do it yourself, we will provide you with our nameservers which are needed to make this change. Do all packages have FTP?
Most Packages do, it is only the "Domain Parking Package" and the "Email Only Package" that don't have FTP, all the rest do. Without FTP you wont be able to load pages up to your web site. However, people will be able to see a web page that explains that your web site is coming soon. Please see a detailed explanation about the different packages on our "Optional Extras" page.
Can I redirect a web page to another site?
Yes you can! When you sign up on our "Standard Package" you can redirect your web site (Plus all your emails), to another web page anywhere on the internet. (Excluding sites depicted in our terms and conditions).
What is Domain Parking?
Domain Parking is a place that you can "park a web site". You wont be able to upload a web site because you don't get an FTP account. Plus, you wont be able to use email. Your site is just "parked" on our server to let people know that your "Web Site" is coming soon. Any email sent to a "Parked Domain" will not work until you upgrade to a package that uses FTP (Eg: Standard Package or higher).
Do "Parked Domains" receive e-mail?
No, if you need to park a domain, you will not be able to use email on that particular service. This package will simply show users a welcome page that states that your main domain is coming soon. Any mail sent to "Parked Domains" will not work.

No! This package will simply show users a welcome page that states that your main domain is coming soon. Any mail sent to "Parked Domains" will not work.
Can I upload pages to the "Email Only Package"?
No, this package does not have any useable disk space. The "Email Only Package" will simply show a Domain World banner and state that your domain is coming soon. However! you will get 500meg of user bandwidth so that you can send and receive email. The lowest package that you can use to upload pages is any package that uses an FTP (File Transfer Protocol), "Click Here to see what packages use FTP".
Can I upgrade or downgrade to a different package?
Yes, you can downgrade at anytime for a small fee of $20. When you upgrade to a higher package, you will still pay a small fee of $20 plus you will also pay the difference for the upgrade to the bigger package. A detailed description is on the bottom of the "Optional Extras Page" See Here.
What happens if I decide to leave Domain World?
You are free to leave at any time. No refunds will be given because your Domain World services are on a year to year basis. If you do decide to leave Domain World Hosting, there are no cancellation fees.
Do you allow adult content on your servers?
Pornography of any sort is expressly prohibited on any of Domain World servers. Any site using adult material MUST have a clearly marked front page with an appropriate warning that it will contain adult themes and would not be suitable for persons under the age of 18. Any adult content WILL be closely monitored, and Domain World will cancel a site if judged to be unfit for use on our servers. (there will be no exceptions). If you are worried that the content of your site will not meet our recommendations, please use another hosting provider. Also! We don't allow: Pirated software (warez), Sites predicting nudity, Hacker programs or archives. Satanic sites, Racism, Explosives, Promoting terrorism, Non-Licensed MP3's or software, Blasphemous material against person/persons/agency, Promoting violence, Spamming, or the sending of unsolicited email, from our server or using an email address or domain that is maintained on our machine as reference is STRICTLY prohibited. Do you support FrontPage Extensions?
Yes, we support FrontPage Extensions on all of our packages except "Domain Parking" and "Email Only" packages.
Why don't you just give everyone their own IP address?
There are a limited number of IP addresses in the world and that number is rapidly being depleted. Once the IP addresses are gone, they're gone, there just won't be anymore for anyone else. There is some work being done to establish a new system but it would take a very long time to implement it and it is not near completion yet.
What server software are you running?
We run Linux and Apache web server.
Can I accept credit cards through my web site on your servers?
Yes, purchase our "Platinum Package" and you will receive a secure certificate, Static IP and a shopping cart. (However, you can always use one of your your own shopping carts if you prefer). You will also need to contact your bank to get a merchant account (Internet Gateway), or you can select a billing service, like "Paypal" or "Eway".
How long does it take to set up a service? (Eg: Hosting or Domain Name)
This process normally takes a few hours (during office hours), as long as your credit card is approved. You will receive your welcome and set-up information by email. Remember, it can take longer for your domain name to point to your new account. However, as soon as you receive your welcome message by email, you are ready to use your new account with your temporary sub-address.
What is the difference between Disk Space and Bandwidth?
"Disk Space" is the amount of space you use on our server. Eg: how big your web site is.... "Bandwidth" is what passes through our server from your web site. Eg: emails, hits to your web site, etc, and all other data transfer.
Is my account permitted to have commercial material?
Yes, definitely. We have clients whose material range from personal to corporate information. However, we do not allow certain adult content, spam, warez or illegal content with our services. See our terms and conditions for details on content permitted on our servers.
Do you provide tech support?
Yes, we will provide our customers with technical support for any problems related to our services or tools that are offered by us.

How do I upload my website files?
Any hosting accounts that come with FTP (File Transfer Protocol) can upload files to the internet via an FTP Client. Almost all site design programs like Adobe Pagemill, Macromedia Dreamweaver, GoLive HotDog, Allaire HomeSite, CyberStudio, HotMetal Pro, Netscape Communicator and NetObjects Fusion use FTP to maintain your site (My personal favorite FTP program is CuteFTP, this is only a stand alone FTP program).
What is SSI?
SSI stands for "Server Side Include", It works in files with .shtml, .html, .htm extensions.
Do I get my own CGI-BIN ?
All "Standard Plans" and above will receive a cgi-bin. Smaller Packages don't have cgi-bin's but you can upgrade to a higher package at any time.
